Designed for facilities where security and key control are of utmost importance, Primus cylinders offer an effective, yet flexible solution.

Security. The secret to this system is the Primus key with its unique patented "side-bit milling". Only the Schlage factory cuts the side-bit milling on special key blanks. These special key blanks are issued to specific Certified Primus Centers for duplication of keys. The result is control against unauthorized key duplication

Patent Protected Primus Key. One of the most important aspects of a high security cylinder is key control. Each Primus key goes through our patented "side-bit milling" process on specially designed machinery.

Key Control. Primus helps maintain the integrity of your master key systems by inhibiting unauthorized key duplication. This is accomplished by a stringently enforced patented "side-bit-milling" on the Primus key.

Retrofit Existing Key Systems. Existing installations of Schlage standard cylinders are easily retrofitted. This allows you the flexibility to design your security system to incorporate High Security, Controlled Access, and Schlage standard cylinders, all within the same project and operated by a single Primus key.

Pick Resistant. The specially constructed Primus Cylinder renders traditional picking methods virtually obsolete.
